Self-charging Hybrid LED Exit Signs at TOTAL FACILITIES

We’ll be showing our next generation Self-charging Hybrid LED Exit Sign at the Total Facilities Exhibition. The show is being held at the Melbourne Convention Center next week (Tuesday 10 May until Thursday 12 May).
Ecoglo will be at booth E17 so come and have a chat about this game changing product. You can download product details from:
https://ecoglo.com.au/wp-content/uploads/AUS-PDS-HYBRID-SIGN-HYUX.2.V21.1F.pdf

We will also be discussing SA TS 5367:2021 published by Standards Australia. The new Technical Specification is designed to sit alongside the NCC documentation as an alternative deemed-to-satisfy solution, and to provide industry practitioners with an objective, detailed toolkit for achieving best practice.
The 25-page SA TS 5367:2021 relates only to Hybrid PL Exit Signage, i.e. PL signs fitted with their own adjacent LED luminaires to keep panels ‘charged’.

HYBRID EXIT SIGN DURABILITY – THE EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE

Ecoglo’s Hybrid Self-charging LED Exit Sign, with its superior backup technology and innovative electronics, is designed to last.
The theoretical calculations of FIT’s (Failures In Time per 1,000,000,000 hours) show that the Ecoglo exit sign is around 300 FIT with “best in class” battery backup competitors ranging from 2,000 FIT to 3,200 FIT.
That’s the theory but what about the practical?
We have had 74 units running in a test facility, at rated voltage with normal supply spikes and no temperature control, since December 2018. That’s equivalent run time of over 2 million hours or 241 years!
How many failures have we had? ZERO!
The stats gurus tell me that if we had 1 unit fail tomorrow then the FIT calculation would be 473 which is starting to get very close to that theoretical 300.
That’s why facility managers love Ecoglo’s hybrid!

BIGGER BOXES!

It’s certainly one way to overcome unreliable freight – just send bigger boxes!
It took a mighty effort from Phil & his team in the factory but it was great to see our first 40 foot container out the door as we push to grow our inventories closer to offshore markets

FAILSAFE Ecoglo F15-175 Step Nosing

Spotted the use of Ecoglo’s new F15-175 step nosing at the local arts centre (on the way to a weekend movie).

The F15 is a great combination of anti-slip, step edge contrast in the daytime then high visibility all through the night. All manufactured with Ecoglo’s HTC process for maximum outdoor durability.

Btw “RESPECT” was a great movie, Jennifer Hudson plays the role of Aretha Franklin, well worth a look!

SIMPLICITY IS THE WORD

Simplicity sums up Ecoglo’s next generation Hybrid Photoluminescent Exit Sign.

It’s not just the simplicity of the innovative and simple electronics or the simplicity of no batteries. It’s also the simplicity of the inspection and testing requirements for the hybrid.

Look out for the Ecoglo testing QR code or take a look at the testing video on YouTube:

ECOGLO SOLUTION PARTNER PROVIDES HYBRID & PASSIVE

This is a well put together design which updates a parking building’s fire engineering systems. It combines both passive and hybrid Ecoglo products into one solution.

The project was led by Ben and the team at Railey Williams Electrical. They worked with the fire engineer and Ecoglo’s technical team to create a bespoke system before supplying product and installation.

Ecoglo’s stairway systems are perfect for open and outdoor areas with plenty of natural daylight while the next generation hybrid exit sign is perfect for the darker areas.

Railey Williams is an accredited Ecoglo Solution Partner, you can contact them on 0800 247 353

ICE REQUIRED

Mental note to self – make sure there’s plenty of ceiling height when you punch the air with excitement!

49 years ago my big brother woke me in the middle of the night to listen to New Zealand win the gold medal in the rowing 8’s at the Munich Olympics.

Fantastic day today as NZ win again 49 years later.

Kiwi’s punching above their weight again – or was that punching above your height Trevor 🙂
